FAQ'S
Some things we are often asked about photoshoots at my Wellingborough studio, viewing your photographs and prints and the products that we sell. If your question isn't here just give me a call on 07920 133159
Your Investment
Baby, family, pets and portrait photography shoots in my studio are just £75 - which will credited towards your orders.
PS: I often have special promotions available so it's a good idea to check back frequently!
Your Shoot
When you come to the studio we can have a chat about how or where you want to use the photographs and the ‘look” you want to achieve.I will show you sample frames and storage products and when you leave you can take away a price guide to think about what you want to order at the viewing session
If you have small children I like to spend a bit of time letting them get used to the studio and me…it’s important for them to be comfortable and happy! If they start to get stressed and uncooperative I will be happy to take a "time out" for them to calm down - but it is important for you to be relaxed and PLEASE don't insist on them saying "cheese" ... it doesn't work and ends up looking horrible! If you have children in nappies...don't forget a spare!
Please allow me to set them at their ease …if we get into a bad mood we only get bad pictures!
What to wear
It’s best to dress in something plain and co-ordinated if there’s a family group shot…jeans and plain T-shirts work very well for all ages and is timeless and classic. My studio style is to try to provide you with a piece of wall art that you will treasure...so, if you fancy getting dressed up in your finery as if you're going out for the evening - that's great....jeans and T-shirts look good, but a bit of bling looks fantastic! Please note that Sports shirts with football logos or other distracting symbols are best avoided... they really do distract from the main subjects - which is YOU!
Seeing your Photos
About a week or so after the shoot you will be able to come back to the studio and choose from a selection of fully edited photographs and order the ones that you would like to be framed … It's a good idea to think about just where in your home you would like your chosen wall art to be displayed which will help to decide the style and size of frame to order
You can sit and review the images with me on a large screen and discuss how best to present them so that you can enjoy them at home for years to come.
We have a wide range of high quality frame mouldings available and you can see the samples when you have your view and design session...I strongly recommend having your precious prints framed by me so that they will stay looking as good as when they were taken
High quality hand made frames (including your photographs!) range in price from about £155 to over £1000 depending on the style and size of frame that you choose. Come and see the many examples on display at my studio.
I now also a have a fab "mini album" with 6 square images in a beautiful black concertina style...perfect for gifting to grandma....for under £200!
This is a loaded question....I know that many photographers ONLY offer the files from your shoot...leaving you to get them printed and framed later. I don't do this... I offer a truly professional service so that you can take your finished artwork home and all you need to do is to decide where and how to place it. I actually love to see my work framed and ready for collection....!
There are huge variations in printing quality too! Don't think that because you have a printer at home and have got some photo paper, that the results will be the same as a professional print laboratory...home printers cost under £100...a pro lab printer can cost upwards of a quarter of a million pounds... which do you think will produce top quality prints that will last a lifetime?
If you have digital files...then you also need to make sure that you don't lose them! Your shoot with me will be archived in 3 separate storage devices....how often do you hear of people losing their phone, I-pad or computer...or having a data loss...once they're gone it is very expensive and often impossible to recover files
Absolutely not! I will NEVER pressure anyone to "buy now." .If you want to buy when you have a little more cash available, then that's fine with me. Just leave a small deposit and your order and prices agreed are fixed for up to 6 months. I now offer an interest free payment option where you can spread the cost up to 12 months...this is a great way to be able to buy exactly what you want and not have to compromise on the size! For example a stunning large wall art frame valued at £650 can be yours for just a £100 deposit and 12 monthly payments of about £45...with NO INTEREST TO PAY!
(Don't tell my accountant but I would rather GIVE you a small print free if you really can't afford to buy anything...because I'm convinced that once you have seen the beautiful photographs of you family or pets you will want to see them at their best...and that is framed and printed!)
I am comfortable with all types of dog but if they are particularly large or boisterous I will suggest an outdoor shoot where we can capture your pet in natural surroundings. As with children, if your dog shows signs of stress then we can take a time out for them to relax and calm down...I find a pocketful of treats works wonders!
If you're lucky enough to be a horse owner, I love doing equestrian portraits either in your yard or a favourite location where you ride. These will be beautiful portraits NOT the usual event style of jumping fences!
Whatever your pet I am sure we can find a way to provide you with some stunning photographs!
Yes, of course! Gift vouchers start from £25 and can be for any amount that you wish to give ... the £25 voucher includes a half hour studio shoot and one mounted print. Other values will have different products included. Gift vouchers can be sent to the giver or the recipient and all come with a lovely envelope just ready for you to address as required...
I now accept Activity Superstore and Emma's Diary vouchers....!
Most of my customers choose framed wall art or the new Folio Box option (shown in the photo) for mounted prints: I can offer simple unframed prints in two sizes - 8"x6" or 10"x 8". Anything above these sizes must be framed - to ensure that they are safe and protected from any accidental damage. I store my own A3 sample prints in a lightproof art portfolio to ensure they remain flat and safe so that when I take them out they look fab...but I'm sure that you will want to see your beautiful photographs every day!
Yes...we now offer interest free payments...just a few simple questions and a deposit on the day and you're good to go...just ask for details in the studio!
